Who we're looking for
We actively welcome creators who use generative AI — and we value creators working with traditional tools just as much. We don't sort or rank anyone by whether they use AI. What we look at is the work itself: its appeal and originality, your craft, how you approach commercial projects, your care for rights and usage terms, and how well we can work together.
Two ways to work with us

Questions(10)
Can I apply if I use AI?
Yes, you're welcome to. Whether you use AI doesn't decide anything. For commercial projects we may ask about the tools and source materials you used and their usage terms.
Can students and independent creators apply?
Yes. Your background doesn't matter. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian will need to agree to any contract.
Do I need followers or awards?
No. We look at your work.
Can I keep working with other companies?
Yes. Membership is non-exclusive by default, so you're generally free to work with others and on your own.
Is membership exclusive?
Non-exclusive by default. If a particular project needs exclusivity, we'll explain why and discuss it with you.
Will I be guaranteed work?
No — we can't guarantee projects or income. When a project fits, we'll get in touch and talk it through.
Does membership cost anything?
There's no sign-up or membership fee. How revenue is shared on each project is agreed in the contract.
Who owns the copyright in my work?
Joining doesn't transfer any copyright to RECHRO. Where rights matter — in client work or publishing — the scope of any licence is agreed in a contract each time.
Can I apply from outside Japan?
Yes, as long as we can work together in Japanese or English. Payment methods and tax matters are discussed when we draw up a contract.
What happens after I apply?
We review your application and portfolio, then contact you by email. If it makes sense, we'll talk online, set out the terms, and sign a contract once we've both agreed.
